CBAM (Carbon Border Adjustment Mechanism)

CBAM, or the Carbon Border Adjustment Mechanism, entails an additional charge for products from certain industries imported within the EU borders based on embedded CO2 emissions. It is based on the main regulation (EU) 2023/956 of the European Parliament and Council dated May 10, 2023.

During the transitional period from October 1, 2023, to December 31, 2025, payments are not obligatory, but importers are mandated to quarterly report emissions.
